Welcome CPA Blogger David White to the Gleim Blog. David will be blogging about studying for all four sections of the CPA exam. David currently works as a tax accountant. He is currently working toward a master’s degree while studying for the CPA exam and working full time.

This week has not been good for CPA exam studying. I can come up with all sorts of excuses for why I have not studied much this week, but it all comes down to procrastination. Part of my excuse is the fact that I have family in town this week, and it has been difficult to find time to study. Nevertheless, I have been listening to the CPA Audio Reviews while driving from place to place. This has helped me to become familiar with the terminology and concepts.

Procrastination has been my problem in the past while studying for the CPA exam. I am very interested in hearing about ways to get studying done when company is in town. It is very distracting when the family constantly want to do something. Is it better just to leave everyone to do their own thing, or should I delay my studying? Unfortunately, I chose the latter route, and I believe I would have been better off setting up a certain time of day to study. My biggest issue is that I have such a heavy requirement of study time that setting up only an hour or two a day seems to be ineffective. However, I do believe that it is better to study a little than to not study at all. Although you may not feel like you are accomplishing anything, you will still have something finished. Sometimes, studying for this exam seems very daunting, but breaking it down into little pieces is a good way to master the material.

Once my family is back out of the picture, I believe I will get back on track. Bright and early Tuesday morning, I will be back at it.
